It’s so wonderful to think about were Omnist Ministry will be in the Future. Thoughts cloud our mind with different ideas and what else we can bring to the Western world. So what exactly have we considered? One of the most exciting thought is opening chapters of this church around the US. This is a wonderful goal, but will take further growth of the community and resources to be spread. Oh, the thought of having local resources available everywhere for pagans and beliefs that just haven’t had this available.
Living in the small town of Maryville MO; having a population close to 12,000 people, I have experienced this first hand. And, although this town is growing and changing, I still sympathize with the time when I couldn’t get the resources I have today or share with others basic and fundamental beliefs that aren't found in a typical church building. Then, you couldn’t even find books like Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman at the local Library. Since then, today and everyday after starts a new. Online shipping and social media has changed what is available and how much community there really is available to us. We are going from a belief that is hard to talk about socially to a belief that is widely talked about and people around the world are more open to. When new fabs bring light into small aspects of pagan and other beliefs this give us the opportunity to explain why we feel this way and how we connect. To respect others in their beliefs and spread love of our own with less fear every day. Even so, it is reckogniseable that in the West, our beliefs are still finding their way through the cracks of hate and of people that lack understanding of the true nature of everything we feel connected to. Genetically, we are wired to hate what we do not understand, and those that don’t understand might take to this fundamental response of hate.
Many years ago, I didn’t think that I would be a Pastor of an Omnist Church. I knew I had a religious path, but only had resources available for Christians. I didn’t know there was a different option. Regardless of what path I would have choose, what is important is that once I knew there were different paths, I had a choice and could follow my own spirituality. I was able to follow my heart.
We all started our path in a different way, and it’s likely that you also didn’t have the resources you needed to find the path that felt right to you. A path that truly spoke to you and made sense to you, or to even have the flexibility to explore what you connect to and don’t connect to. Perhaps some day there will be an Omnist Ministry Church near you or something similar. Perhaps you will find more community with similar beliefs closer to you, or you have more resources available. Perhaps this is what we bring in tomorrow.
I am so so happy that I found Omnism. This has been with me through my years in the sect of Christianity in which I was raised. I saw truths in it and I saw things that did not sit well. And those things that sat ill with me that were turned on my and lead to me spiritually wandering. I encountered other teachings and religions and though finding again, bits and pieces of truths in each, I walked. But when a friend sent me the link to this Church, the bells and winds of my being felt home. Thank you for establishing the formal definition so I can put my feelings into words that I can convey to others.…
Thank you for the story. I thought it was great.
